PEN_DRIVE
A pen drive is a portable Universal Serial Bus(USB) flash memory deivce for storing and tranferring ,audio,video,and data files from computer. USB flash drives use the USB mass storage standard, supported natively by modern operating system such as linxu ,Mac OS X, windows, and other unix_like systems, as well as many BLOS bool ROMS.Specially manufactured flash drives are available that have a tough rubber or metal casing designed to be waterpoof and virtually "unbreakable".These flash drives retain their memory after being submerged in water , and even through a machine wash.
Some advantages of Pen_Drive are:
1) Durable solid state for transporting data from one location to another.
2) The near ubiquity of USB support on morden PCs means that such a drive will work in most place.
3) Most morden OS can read & write flash drives without any additional device drives.
4) Flash drives use little power , have no fragile moving parts,and for most capacities and small and light.
Some disadvantage of Pen_Drive are:
1)They can sustain only limited number of wrirte & erase cycles before failure.
2)Write operations will gradually slow as the device ages.
3)They can be damaged or have data corrupted if an impact loosens circut connection.
4) The hardware is small , it can get damaged,lost or stoleen.
Use of Pen_Drive
1) To transport personal data.
2) To commonest use of USB pen drives is to transport or store personal files such as documents ,pictures and video.
3) One can also store mediacl alert information for emergency use or as perparation against disaster.
